How to Submit a Manuscript

The Mol. Cells has on online submission and peer review system. Manuscripts should be submitted online at molcells.org and the instructions on the site should be closely followed. Authors may submit manuscripts and tract their progress to final decision.

Formatting

Text : To facilitate the review process, manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), Word Perfect documents, or PDF. Use basic fonts such as Arial or Helvetica no smaller than 10 points. Special or mathematical characters and Greek letters, which are not on a standard keyboard, must be created using the Symbol font. The text of your manuscript (including title page, abstract, main text, references, figure legends, and tables) should be uploaded in a single file.

Illustrations : Do not reveal your identity anywhere in the document. Figure files should be submitted as separate files. Figures should be approximately the same size as you would like them to appear in print. Prepare and submit your figures as .gif, .jpeg files of more than 300 dpi resolution. Number figures consecutively with Arabic numbers.

Submitting

Log on to molcells.org if you do not have an account, click on the "Register Now". If you have an account, but don't know your password, click the "Send login details" link. Otherwise, enter your Username and password into the boxes provided, and click on "Author". At the welcome screen, click on "Submit a New Manuscript". And then, follow steps.

  • Check list To proceed submission, please read carefully and see if your manuscript meets this checklist.
    Manuscripts that do not meet will be immediately returned to the author.
  • Document type, Title, and Abstract Select Document type, and enter your title, running title, abstract, keywords and cover letter into the appropriate boxes. You can cut and paste from your document.
    Enter the title and abstract (250 words or fewer) of your manuscript and provide keywords (maximum: 6). If you need to insert a special character, click the "Special Characters" button. When you are finished, click "Next" to proceed.
  • Authors and Affiliations Enter your co-authors' information in the boxes. When you are finished, click "Next" to proceed.
  • File Upload
    • Uploading the manuscript file
      Molecules and Cells accepts Microsoft Word Documents (.doc or .docx), Word Perfect documents, or PDF. The text of your manuscript (including title page, abstract, main text, references, figure legends, and tables) should be uploaded in a single file.
    • Uploading the graphic file
      Molecules and Cells accepts high-resolution JPEG, GIF, PDF, or Micorsoft Powerpoint (.ppt or .pptx) files (> 300dpi).
    • Supplementary Files
      You may provide any supplementary data that may be useful for evaluation of your manuscript by reviewers and editors.
      Molecules and Cells accepts Microsoft Word Documents (.doc or .docx), PDF, Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt or .pptx), or multimedia files (animations, movies, audio, etc).
      Multimedia files should be directly sent to the office of Molecules and Cells by e-mail.
    • Uploading the manuscript file
      Molecules and Cells accepts Microsoft Word Documents (.doc or .docx), Word Perfect documents, or PDF. The text of your manuscript (including title page, abstract, main text, references, figure legends, and tables) should be uploaded in a single file.
  • Proof and Submit Review the information in the preview and make changes if needed.
    After reviewing the manuscript proofs, you MUST CLICK 'SUBMIT' to complete your submission.
